Investigations of oil contamination in South Sudan have identified Petronas as one of several oil companies responsible for polluting the environment and contaminating water consumed by more than 600,000 residents, roughly five percent of the population.
Petronas bears partial responsibility for several oil spills and fires in recent months leading to environmental pollution and the evacuation of 2000 people.
